Viasat’s Mission Connections & Cybersecurity Division seeks a Capture and Strategy Professional with a track record of identifying, qualifying, shaping, and winning work to support the U.S. Department of Defense, specifically the United States Air Force and United States Space Force. The selected candidate will: Analyze US Government programs, command missions, service requirements, industry trends and Viasat strategy to develop, present, and lead pursuits for long-term/large value (>$50M) propositions for the DoD. Build, position, and capture opportunities and procurements. Form and lead multidisciplinary teams to develop sophisticated solutions for specific US Government opportunities. Develop capture strategy and plans, compelling proposals, and customer influence meetings. Support development of the financial solution, provide market insight to competitive offerings, price to win and cost. Support post-sales activities including but not limited to award and loss analysis to identify lessons learned and trends for future opportunities. The ideal candidate will bring domain expertise in the US Air Force and DoD with a focus on large acquisition opportunities. Will serve as the SME for understanding programs, budgets, and requirements in those areas, and will help lead the team through program influence, customer relationships, current and future requirements, and Defense Industrial Base relationships and partnering. Develop and qualify USAF, USN, Air/Missile Defense, and/or Space opportunities. The primary focus is to understand domain(s) and find/qualify and partner with the business areas within Viasat to establish a robust pipeline of opportunities and lead the capture for selected opportunities. Build, lead, and implement market strategies within the targeted markets and agencies. Identify, develop, and implement Viasat investment opportunities to support customer initiatives. Develop and present business case briefings to senior leadership in support of investment in and pursuit of strategic opportunities in these markets. Engage customers to gain intimacy and knowledge of their problems to better identify and shape opportunities and requirements. Actively market the Company Brand, establish customer expectations, and shape opportunities by crafting white papers, sponsoring in-house demonstrations, and responding to RFIs and similar activities. Support Captures and Proposals to maintain continuity across the BD lifecycle, improving our ability to win as opportunities pass from qualification into capture and then proposal. Effective leader/participant in formal presentations to clients and potential teaming partners. What You'll Need
20+ years of operational service experience within the US DoD or within related Industry positions and a Bachelor’s Degree Existing, established network of customer contacts in the markets described above Working knowledge of the Federal procurement process (including IDIQs, OTAs, BAAs, and other acquisition instruments) Working knowledge of Department of Defense budget process MS Office skills (PowerPoint, Excel, Word) Exceptional interpersonal skills (both written and verbal) Active Secret Security Clearance What Will Help You On The Job
3 years of experience working with Special Access Programs within the DoD Master’s degree in a technical or business field Formal training in program capture processes Proven experience in operations or maintenance of USAF operational information networks, communications, and cyberspace systems Experience as a DoD acquisition program manager Experience in the USAF with Advanced Aircraft, Weapons, Sensors, Technologies, Active Communication Programs, and Tactical Data Links Experience in industry to include program management or marketing, capture, proposal activities Active Top Secret Security Clearance Salary range
$185,000.00 - $291,500.00 annually. For specific work locations within San Jose, the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, the base pay range is $222,500.00 - $333,500.00 annually. Base pay may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Additional cash or stock incentives may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the position offered.
