Overview Long Island, NY (Nassau County) — a fast-growing, independent US CPA firm with multiple office locations is seeking a visionary and results-driven Chief Operating Officer (COO) to propel operational excellence, lead firm integrations, and scale the platform for sustained growth. This role reports to the CEO/Managing Partner and requires a hands-on leader with operational rigor and a passion for empowering entrepreneurial accounting professionals within a larger platform.

Base pay range $325,000.00/yr - $350,000.00/yr

About the Role As COO, you will command day-to-day operations, spearhead acquisition integrations seamlessly, and build a unified, scalable operational backbone. This hands-on leader will drive operational rigor and empower entrepreneurial accounting professionals within a larger platform.

Responsibilities

Lead efficient and scalable operations across multi-office footprint including finance, HR, IT, client service operations, and administration

Drive operational integration of new acquisitions while preserving client continuity and firm culture

Implement and manage SOPs to align decentralized firms under centralized support systems

Identify growth bottlenecks and apply strategic solutions to scale profitably

Establish robust KPIs, dashboards, and a culture of data-driven accountability

Develop, mentor, and lead a high-performing leadership team with clear, transparent communication

Champion technology adoption and process innovation to boost operational efficiency and client service

Qualifications

10+ years of operational leadership experience within US CPA or professional services firms

Proven success managing multi-location firms and integrating acquisitions

Strong financial acumen, organizational design expertise, and change leadership skills

Excellent communication, stakeholder, and team management capabilities

CPA, MBA, or equivalent credentials preferred but not mandatory
