Domestic Violence Advocate - Phone Based role at
Behavioral Health Network, Inc (BHN) . At BHN, you can help develop and provide new healthcare-based services to support survivors of domestic abuse. Join our team of competent and compassionate professionals as a Phone-Based Domestic Violence Advocate in the Domestic Violence Services program at Behavioral Health Network. Responsibilities
Serving as a key component to local community response to Domestic Violence in this rural region of Massachusetts. Providing victim support and crisis intervention via phone call. Offering problem solving and referrals to community services for survivors of domestic violence. Offering education about the dynamics of abuse. Providing safety planning and risk assessments, emotional support, and case management. Being specially trained for this position. Being immediately available to respond following a domestic violence incident. Qualifications
High School Diploma/GED equivalent (required); Bachelor’s degree in related field (preferred). At least one year of experience within the field of human services, mental health, social services, or case management (required). At least one year of experience working survivors of domestic or sexual violence (preferred). At least 25 hours of trainings relevant to Domestic Violence Advocacy/Sexual Assault (required); proof of certifications required during hiring process. Familiarity with Massachusetts laws 20J & 20K (required). Familiarity with domestic violence & sexual assault support resources available within Western Massachusetts (required). Valid Massachusetts driver's license & car available for work purposes, if needed (required). Ability to commute to Ware, MA and/or Northampton, MA within 30 minutes, if needed (required).
