As a key member of our Surgical Care Unit, you will provide top-notch med-surg care to a diverse patient population, with a focus on post-operative general surgery patients, primarily of GI and GU origin. Unit Specifics: - Number of Beds: 42 - Patient Ratios: 6:1 - Staffing: Patient Care Techs available at a ratio of approximately 12:1, assisted by department assistants (unit secretaries) during designated hours. Key Responsibilities: - Deliver high-quality patient care with empathy, professionalism, and timeliness.- Participate in essential nursing procedures, including occasional Incision and Drainage (I&D), joint aspirations, and lumbar punctures.- Maintain accurate and timely documentation using the Expanse system.- Collaborate with a diverse team of healthcare professionals to enhance patient experience. Requirements: - Certifications: Active BLS certification required. - Skill Set: Strong accountability, time management, and self-starter capabilities, along with general nursing skills. - Experience: A wide range of staff experience is available on our unit, from newly graduated nurses to those with 25+ years of experience. Scheduling: - Required to work three 12-hour shifts per week from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM, including every other weekend.- Flexibility is essential; no blocked scheduling or guaranteed specific days off. Dress Code: Navy blue scrubs are required, with the option to wear approved HCA/unit apparel (Team T-Shirts).
