UBHC, Rutgers Addiction Services Rutgers The State University is seeking a Program Coordinator in the Newark Adult Outpatient Services of Rutgers University Behavioral Healthcare. Under supervision of the Program Manager, the Program Coordinator will function as a member of the clinical and administrative leadership team in the Specialized Addiction Treatment Services (SATS). Primarily responsible for providing supervision to multi-disciplinary staff and oversight of SATS treatment services for adults. Ensures compliance with all regulations. Responsibilities
Supervises staff in the Specialized Addiction Treatment Program in Newark. Supervises staff on a daily basis, providing administrative direction, group coverage, and clinical updates. Provides staff with direction regarding consumer/patient intervention through individual supervision, group supervision, team meetings, and case conferences. Maintains confidentiality of information; recognizes and respects limits of authority and responsibility. Monitors staff performance and at minimum, on a bi-annual basis, meets individually with assigned staff to review performance goals, and compliance with mandatory continuing education requirements. Qualifications
Minimum Education and Experience: Master’s Degree in a behavioral health field or a relevant field plus four (4) years of postgraduate experience. Certifications/Licenses: Must possess a license to treat clients with co-occurring disorders. Licensed Clinical Alcohol and Drug Counselor (L.C.A.D.C). Applicants possessing a degree in Social Work must have an active New Jersey certification/licensure as required by the State Board of Social Work. Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Experience in working directly with adults with severe and persistent mental illness, their families, and the agencies that serve them. Demonstrated ability to work with clients and staff both individually and in groups. Other: Must consent to a urine drug screen and be fingerprinted at the employee’s expense upon hire. Preferred Qualifications: One (1) year of supervisory experience preferred. Physical Demands and Work Environment
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Extensive reading is required. Ability to speak clearly is required. Extended periods of sitting. Hearing is essential. Lifting of up to 10 pounds. Ability to remain active as employment involves interaction with active children, crisis management, walking, and/or driving to related UBHC or community meetings. WORK ENVIRONMENT: Moderate noise (examples: business office with computers and printers, light traffic).
