This opportunity involves working with our Fire and Life Safety Team on projects that meet client objectives and solve challenges. The role provides technical guidance for multi-site/phase due diligence, design, development, testing, and inspection of fire and life safety systems in both public and private sectors. Responsibilities include research, design, planning, installation, operation, maintenance, and integration of systems like automatic sprinklers, fire alarms, smoke control, and egress analysis. Ensures compliance with building and fire codes, and produces reports and documentation to meet industry standards. Your Impact
Interpretation of building, life safety, and fire code requirements, including ICC and NFPA codes. Review architectural drawings for code compliance. Negotiate with authorities having jurisdiction on fire safety designs. Create fire safety strategy documents to support design processes. Design fire protection and life safety systems. Perform and review fire engineering calculations, including smoke modeling and evacuation analysis. Assist in commissioning fire safety systems. Interface with clients and organize resources. Follow quality control processes and develop project proposals and budgets. Manage project finances, mentor junior staff, and prepare technical reports. Participate in departmental initiatives and contribute to business development. Who You Are
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Fire Protection Engineering or related field. 5+ years of fire protection and life safety consulting experience. Experience in fire protection engineering design applications. Proficiency in REVIT and AutoCAD. Excellent communication skills. Preferred Qualifications
P.E. License (preferred). Experience in healthcare consulting and design (preferred). About WSP
