Overview

The Market President / Senior Commercial Lender is responsible for driving the growth and profitability of the bank’s commercial lending portfolio within a designated market. This role combines relationship management, business development, and strategic leadership, overseeing a team of commercial lenders while building strong relationships with key clients, referral sources, and community partners. Key Responsibilities

Business Development & Client Relationship Management:

Develop, manage, and expand relationships with commercial clients, community leaders, and referral sources to drive new business and strengthen market presence.

Portfolio Management:

Oversee a commercial loan portfolio, ensuring high-quality underwriting, asset performance, and compliance with regulatory and bank policies.

Team Leadership:

Lead, mentor, and develop a team of commercial lenders, fostering a high-performance culture focused on results and client service.

Strategic Market Leadership:

Serve as the bank’s senior representative in the market, identifying growth opportunities, monitoring economic trends, and positioning the bank competitively.

Credit & Risk Oversight:

Collaborate with the credit and underwriting teams to review loan structures, mitigate risk, and maintain asset quality standards.

Operational Collaboration:

Work with internal departments, including operations, treasury, and retail banking, to ensure seamless delivery of products and services to commercial clients.

Community Engagement:

Actively participate in local business, civic, and professional organizations to enhance the bank’s visibility and reputation.

Position Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in finance, business, or a related field; MBA or relevant advanced degree preferred.

Minimum of 10 years of

commercial lending experience , with a proven track record of relationship management, deal origination, and portfolio leadership.

Demonstrated

leadership experience , including managing teams of lenders or bankers.

Strong understanding of

commercial credit, risk management, and financial analysis .

Exceptional

communication, negotiation, and presentation skills .

Ability to

strategically plan for market growth , balance risk and opportunity, and influence internal and external stakeholders.

General office environment with local travel for client meetings and community engagement.

Standard office equipment and technology for communication, reporting, and portfolio management.
