The commerce and fintech landscape is evolving at an extraordinary pace. We’re seeking a Manager to join our Strategy and Market Insights team to turn market and competitive insights into actionable opportunities and help shape strategic direction in the most critical areas of our business.
You’ll bring curiosity and energy to uncover what matters to customers, what fuels market dynamics, and what competitors’ strategies are. You will transform that understanding into strategic opportunities that drive business growth, and tell compelling stories that inform growth strategies, strengthen our value proposition, inspire product innovation, and improve customer experiences.
PayPal seeks exceptional professionals to develop actionable insights for guiding senior leaders, from the C-suite to operational leaders, bringing clarity to their most pressing decisions. We enable decision-making with a deep understanding of customers, market needs, business drivers and emerging opportunities from an outside-in perspective.
To succeed in this role, you’ll need expertise in strategy development, problem solving, storytelling, research and executive-level influencing/communication.
Responsibilities
Market/competitive insights: Advise PayPal’s senior leadership through research engagements to develop and articulate a point of view on market signals, potential ecosystem game-changers and their implications for PayPal
Strategy development/execution: Lead or support the development of PayPal’s strategy on high-visibility initiatives and long-term priorities in key ecosystem areas
Conduct and/or lead qualitative and quantitative analysis to support decision making
Cross-collaborate with Product, Sales, Marketing, Analytics and other teams to bring a cross-functional perspective on market and customer insights
Storytelling: Synthesize research insights for executive consumption to facilitate decision making
Education, Skills And Experience
Minimum 2-3 years of experience in strategy consulting, investment banking, corporate strategy and/or competitive intelligence
MBA or quantitative degree from a top school preferred but not mandatory
Experience in financial services (particularly payments), technology and/or e-commerce preferred
Strong strategic and analytical thinking with ability to synthesize multiple information sources (quantitative and qualitative) in a structured, data-driven way
Experience providing strategic advice to complex global organizations
Superior communications and influencing skills (verbal, written, presentations)
Track record of delivering tangible results
Willingness to learn and comfort with ambiguity

The U.S. national annual pay range for this role is $111,500 to $191,950.
