Editorial Director (ED)

will work collaboratively with leaders, creative professionals, and key thought leaders to bring Amplity’s journals and publications to life across multiple formats. The ED will oversee the delivery of specific journals, ensure content engages audiences across platforms, support readership growth and sponsorship opportunities, and help Amplity meet its mission objectives. The role involves shaping the editorial vision across written, digital, and multimedia formats; coordinating editorial calendars; curating content from various sources; and maintaining strong partnerships with external entities. The ED will collaborate with sales, marketing, and digital teams to align editorial strategies with business growth targets and audience engagement while upholding quality standards within budget constraints. Partnering with senior leadership, the ED plans short- and long-term visions for journals, drives readership and engagement, and participates in budget approval and cross-functional collaboration while leading a high-performing team to achieve outcomes. Partner with senior leadership to plan the overarching vision for the relevant journal(s), both short-term and long-term. Manage the complete editorial workflow for assigned journals, from initial concept and manuscript development to final layout, including content solicitation, creation, editing, proofreading, and ensuring timely delivery of finalized files. Guide written, video, podcast, and live editorial formats, ensuring consistency of quality, brand voice, and mission alignment. Coordinate with client servicing and content teams, and leadership from partner associations, to develop editorial calendars and associated content sourced from submission platforms, in-house writers, freelance writers, and key thought leaders. Collaborate with the digital team to optimize content across brand websites, social media channels, and podcast/video platforms, using analytics to refine strategy. Maintain editorial independence from sponsorship and advertising; liaise with sales, marketing, and leadership to align editorial strategy with business growth objectives, sponsorship opportunities, and readership goals. Maintain relationships with external partners (including associations and vendors) and establish relationships with experts in the field for high-quality content. Approve journals’ budgets and expenditures; collaborate with other function leaders to improve communication and workflow among teams. Lead a high-performing team to drive results. Education/Experience

BS/BA in English, communications, journalism, or health sciences field. Minimum seven (7) years’ professional editing experience, including fact-checking, researching, and referencing skills, and knowledge of American Medical Association (AMA) Manual of Style 11th edition; oncology experience a plus. Minimum two (2) years leading a team to high performance. Key Competencies
