Cost Manager – Life Science project, Los Angeles market (full-time)
Overview
We’re seeking a full-time Cost Manager to join a major Life Science project in the LA market. This role is a great fit for someone who thrives in dynamic project environments and can bring both technical expertise and strong communication skills to the table. The Cost Manager will lead all aspects of project cost management—ensuring budgets are accurate, risks are tracked, and financial performance is transparent. You’ll collaborate closely with project managers, contractors, and client stakeholders to keep the project on track and financially sound. Responsibilities
Manage estimating, budgeting, forecasting, and cost control throughout the project lifecycle. Monitor project cashflows, commitments, and financial performance. Review contractor/vendor estimates, invoices, and change orders. Support procurement and contract management processes. Prepare and deliver accurate cost reports and analysis for project leadership. Partner with project schedulers and managers to align cost and schedule performance. Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field 5+ years of experience in cost management, project controls, or construction management Strong background in Life Science, Healthcare, or large-scale commercial projects preferred Skilled in estimating, cost reporting, and change management Proficiency in Excel and cost management platforms (Procore, Aconex, etc. a plus) Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities Pay and location
The pay range for this role is $110,000 to $180,000 per year. Actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, depth of experience, certifications, and specific work location.
