Overview Our client is a growing manufacturing business with a strong market presence. They are seeking a hands-on Accounting Manager to lead our accounting and finance functions. The Accounting Manager will lead day-to-day accounting operations and play a key role in month-end close, financial reporting, and cost accounting. This individual will partner closely with plant leadership and the Business Unit Controller to ensure accurate financials, support decision-making, and drive process improvements. The ideal candidate has a strong background in manufacturing or consumer goods, with hands-on experience in cost accounting and inventory management.
Key Responsibilities
Manage daily accounting operations, including general ledger, journal entries, reconciliations, and month-end close
Oversee cost accounting, inventory valuation, and variance analysis to support operational efficiency
Ensure accuracy of financial statements in compliance with GAAP and corporate policies
Partner with the Business Unit Controller and plant leadership to provide financial insights that drive business performance
Support budgeting, forecasting, and variance reporting processes
Maintain and strengthen internal controls, ensuring compliance with policies and regulations
Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and accuracy
Mentor junior accounting staff, promoting growth and collaboration
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
5+ years of progressive accounting experience
Background in consumer goods, manufacturing, or distribution required
Strong knowledge of GAAP, cost accounting, and inventory management
Experience with ERP systems (SAP, NetSuite, or similar)
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment
Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills
