Overview
HOPEWEST is seeking a mission-centered, operationally astute leader to serve as its next Chief Operating Officer. This is a unique opportunity to join a nationally respected nonprofit organization that provides hospice, palliative care, grief support, and PACE services across a 10,000-square-mile region of Western Colorado, with deep community roots and a strong philanthropic foundation. HopeWest is poised for a new chapter of performance, integration, and leadership development. The COO will serve as the organization’s lead operator, reporting to the CEO and overseeing day-to-day operations across all care lines. Responsibilities
Serve as the organization’s lead operator and oversee day-to-day operations across all care lines. Build accountable leadership teams, scale infrastructure, and drive culture alignment while maintaining a focus on mission and quality of care. Provide coaching and lead change initiatives, balancing strategy with effective execution. Reinforce HopeWest’s identity and advance operational discipline and shared accountability across programs and teams. Foster a relational, mission-driven environment suitable for high-touch care and community engagement. Qualifications
Proven healthcare executive with experience in complex clinical delivery systems, including hospice, palliative care, or PACE models. Track record of building leadership teams, scaling infrastructure, and aligning culture with mission and quality goals. Coaching mindset, change leadership experience, and comfort with both strategy and execution. Long-term commitment to the community and ability to adapt to a high-touch, mission-driven environment. Experience and Metrics of Success
Experience leading in community-based care organizations and demonstrated success in growth, team clarity, financial discipline, and quality and satisfaction improvements. Additional Details
