We are looking for a strategic leader to join our eCommerce Strategy team as Director of Market Intelligence. This role will drive the development of actionable insights that inform Walmart’s most critical decisions—across competitive positioning, site experience, and meeting evolving customer expectations.
You’ll be part of a high-performing team at the center of Walmart’s eCommerce organization. We are a people-led, tech-powered omnichannel retailer, and our team plays a pivotal role in helping the company navigate a rapidly changing landscape with clarity and confidence.
The Market Intelligence function partners closely with leaders across analytics, finance, and business units to decode competitor behavior, forecast market shifts, and benchmark performance. We translate complex data into compelling narratives that influence senior leadership and drive real-world impact.
What you’ll do
Monitor and Analyze Competitor Dynamics
Build scalable approaches to market intelligence using internal and external data.
Analyze competitor strategies, performance, and positioning across digital and physical channels.
Identify risks and opportunities in the competitive landscape to inform Walmart’s eCommerce strategy.
Deliver Data-Driven Insights
Develop models and dashboards to support decision-making across site experience, marketplace, and omnichannel fulfillment strategy.
Translate complex data into clear, actionable insights using visualization and storytelling.
Guide scenario planning to assess strategic options and forecast outcomes.
Benchmark and Position Walmart eCommerce
Lead competitive benchmarking across key metrics such as assortment, pricing, and fulfillment speeds.
Research emerging trends and technologies shaping the retail and eCommerce space.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to evaluate investment strategies and market opportunities.
Build Networks for Information Sharing with Internal Stakeholders
Establish internal networks to share insights and align on strategic priorities.
Partner with analytics, finance, and business leaders to integrate intelligence into planning cycles.
Foster a culture of curiosity, collaboration, and continuous learning across the team.
The Walmart annual salary range for this position is $110,000.00-$220,000.00. Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses. Other compensation for certain positions may include stock.

Option 2: 8 years’ experience in strategic finance, corporate finance, competitive intelligence, consulting, market research, data analytics, or related area in a high-growth technology sector.
