The Senior Business Development Strategist plays a crucial role in driving marketing and business development initiatives for our high-growth industry groups, such as Fintech, AI, E-Gaming, NewSpace, and Climate. This position is instrumental in enhancing the visibility of these groups both internally and externally while supporting efforts that foster client engagement and pipeline development. Collaborating closely with the entire business development and marketing team, this role requires a balance of strategic vision with superior execution skills and adaptability to the firm's evolving needs. This position reports to the Senior Business Development Manager for Industry Groups. This role offers a hybrid work schedule. Key Responsibilities: Assist in the development and implementation of marketing and business development strategies for the industry groups. Conduct comprehensive research on markets, technologies, companies, and individuals relevant to the industry group attorneys while staying updated on pertinent industry trends. Support pitch tracking and reporting for the business development team. Help maintain an organized experience database for key attorney matters. Contribute to the planning and execution of client events, speaking engagements, and sponsorships, which includes analyzing attendee lists, preparing customized materials, supporting follow-up efforts, and tracking outcomes in the CRM system. Prepare engaging marketing and business development materials, tailoring both basic and complex pitch documents to meet specific needs. Collaborate with the firmwide business development team to support initiatives in industry sectors, practices, and technology innovation. Act as a resource and informal mentor for junior team members. Desired Skills and Qualifications: A minimum of 4 years of experience in a law firm business development role supporting practices or industry groups. Bachelor’s degree preferred. Strong customer service orientation. Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with a professional, empathetic, and tactful approach. Highly detail-oriented with excellent proofreading and fact-checking abilities. Organized and efficient, able to maintain productivity and professionalism under pressure and tight deadlines. Proficient in MS Office Suite, including PowerPoint, Word, and Excel. Quick learner with the ability to adapt to new software, systems, and procedures smoothly. Capable of working both independently and collaboratively in team settings. Self-motivated, with a positive attitude and genuine interest in technology, life sciences, and the new energy economy. Willingness to travel and attend essential events and meetings as needed. The primary location for this position is in Palo Alto, but additional locations may also be relevant. Compensation for this role is competitive and reflects a variety of factors, including qualifications, relevant experience, education level, and work location. The anticipated pay range is as follows: San Francisco and Silicon Valley: $102,000 - $138,000 per year; Austin, Boston, Boulder, Washington D.C., Los Angeles, New York, San Diego, Seattle, and Wilmington: $91,800 - $124,200 per year; Salt Lake City and other locations: $81,600 - $110,400 per year.
