Created in 1968, the Groups Scholars Program puts first-generation students and those with socioeconomic barriers on the path to college success by providing academic, financial, and social support, helping them attain a bachelor's degree at Indiana University. In addition, students are offered an extensive student support system, including academic advising, tutoring, enrollment in specialized courses, and activities designed to foster academic success and degree completion.

Job Summary

Serves as Receptionist/Clerical support for the Groups Scholars Program and performs a variety of routine and non-routine clerical and administrative tasks related to the daily management of the office.

Department-Specific Responsibilities Answers Phones. Greets students, visitors, faculty, and staff in a friendly and professional manner. Manages posts on the department's social media sites. Assists with the department Canvas page. Assists with the Groups Newsletter. Assists with managing the department's e-mail account. Makes special calls to students at the director's request. Assists with preparing materials for different program events. Assists in the processing of applications. Provides support to all Groups Scholars Program classes. Assists the Director, Associate Director, and Advisors with assigned tasks as needed. Qualifications

Required

Currently enrolled as a student at Indiana University WORK EXPERIENCE

Preferred

This role requires the ability to effectively communicate and to operate a computer and other standard office productivity equipment. The position involves sedentary work as well as periods of time moving around an office environment and the campus. The person in this role must be able to perform the essential functions with or without an accommodation.

Advertised Salary

Work Hours

Positions require 10-29 hours per week.

Hours are flexible, but total employment across all positions held at Indiana University must not exceed 29 hours per week.

Work schedules will align with the Summer Experience Program 2025 and the Fall and Spring class schedules for the 2025 academic year.
