Mammography Technologist

who prepares and performs mammographic specialized procedures for the diagnosis of breast conditions. Duties include explaining procedures to patients; preparing and positioning patients for exams; determining equipment requirements for the procedures and imaging or film necessary for physician's preliminary viewing; and assisting the physicians or nurses during procedures. CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT

Shift Availability:

ARMC is a twenty-four hour facility; applicants must indicate their shift availability in the Supplemental Questionnaire of the application. Shift differentials are provided.

Pre-Employment Process:

Applicants selected for these positions must pass a background investigation, physical and verification of employment history and education.

Promotion:

Special Procedures Radiologic Technologist I are eligible for promotion to

Special Procedures Radiologic Technologist II

upon meeting the minimum requirements for said higher level classification and receiving a satisfactory work progress report. Incumbents must promote within twenty-four (24) months or be terminated.

Certifications:

Candidates must obtain certification in Fluoroscopy with the State of California, Department of Public Health within six (6) months of hire or be terminated. Must possess a Healthcare Provider level Basic Life Support (BLS) certification upon hire.

Candidates must possess each of the following:

Must possess and maintain current certifications with the State of California, Department of Public Health as a Radiologic Technologist

and

Mammographic Radiologic Technologist. CRT/Fluoroscopy issued by the State of California, Department of Public Health (must obtain within the first six (6) months of hire or be terminated). Healthcare Provider Level Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association. Registration:

Must possess and maintain registration with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) and possess a California State Mammography certificate. Experience:

Special Procedures RT I:

No experience Required (Trainee level) Special Procedures RT II:

One (1) year of experience as a Radiologic Technologist -OR- six (6) months of supervised Mammography clinical experience. There will be a

competitive evaluation
