Position Summary

The Staff Accountant will play a key role in supporting the Finance team through accurate execution of core accounting functions, financial compliance, and reporting. This highly visible position partners with the CFO and FP&A team while contributing to the companys audit readiness, cost accounting initiatives, and broader financial operations. Reporting directly to the Sr. Analyst, FP&A, this role is ideal for a proactive accounting professional eager to grow with a fast-paced, innovative organization. Key Responsibilities Perform day-to-day accounting operations, including general ledger entries, payroll processing, accounts payable, 401(k) reporting, and banking transactions using NetSuite, Stampli, and related platforms. Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close by preparing journal entries, reconciliations, and financial reporting packages. Ensure compliance with GAAP and corporate policies through accurate records, reconciliations, and documentation. Prepare accruals, reconcile use taxes, and assist with federal, state, and local compliance filings. Maintain documentation for insurance and regulatory requirements, ensuring audit readiness. Coordinate materials and schedules for the annual financial audit and external inquiries. Contribute to cost accounting processes and provide data for fundraising, audits, and due diligence. Manage expense reporting workflows and assist with balance sheet reconciliations (e.g., prepaids, accrued expenses). Participate in ad-hoc projects and special initiatives that support organizational growth.

Qualifications

Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. 2+ years of experience in general accounting, audit, or related finance roles. Proficiency with NetSuite and Microsoft Excel; experience with AP and expense reporting platforms preferred. Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial compliance practices. Proven organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Self-motivated, adaptable, and comfortable with ambiguity and growth-stage dynamics. Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate across teams. Startup or high-growth company experience strongly preferred.
