The Corporate Accountant is a detail oriented and proactive professional who supports the companys growing finance and accounting operations. This key team member is responsible for assisting with the general ledger, payroll, banking, accounts payable, and financial reporting processes, all in accordance with GAAP. The role assists in the execution of core accounting tasks while contributing to audits, financial compliance, cost accounting, and other essential business initiatives. Working closely with the CFO and FP&A team, the Corporate Accountant must effectively manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. Key Responsibilities Perform day-to-day core accounting operations, including general ledger entries, payroll processing, 401(k) reporting, banking transactions, and accounts payable using NetSuite, Stampli, and other financial systems. Contribute to the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes by preparing journal entries, reconciling accounts, and supporting financial reporting. Ensure compliance with GAAP and corporate financial policies by maintaining accurate financial records and assisting with account reconciliations. Prepare accruals, file and reconcile use taxes, and support federal, state, and local tax reporting and compliance requirements. Assist with corporate insurance and regulatory compliance by maintaining organized documentation and supporting audit readiness. Coordinate and prepare documentation for the annual financial audit, including schedules and responses to external auditor inquiries. Support cost accounting processes by assisting with analysis and review activities. Provide financial data and analysis to support audits, fundraising efforts, and other due diligence initiatives. Help ensure adherence to financial, tax, and regulatory requirements through accurate documentation and timely compliance activities. Manage expense reports by reviewing and importing them into NetSuite via the companys expense management platform. Perform monthly reconciliations of assigned balance sheet accounts, including prepaids and other key financial areas. Participate in special projects and ad-hoc financial initiatives as assigned.
Qualifications
Bachelors degree or associates in accounting, Finance, or a related discipline. 4 years of experience as a Corporate Accountant, Staff Accountant, and/or in FP&A. Experience performing day-to-day core accounting operations: general ledger entries, some payroll processing, 401(k) reporting, accounts payable, and banking transactions. Experience with journal entries supporting monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes. Experience filing and reconciling use taxes, and supporting federal, state, and local tax reporting and compliance requirements. Experience preparing accruals and supporting financial reporting. Strong core accounting experience, including contributing to audits, financial compliance, and cost accounting. Proficiency with NetSuite (or similar). Advanced Microsoft Excel experience. Experience with accounts payable and expense reporting platforms preferred. Familiarity with GAAP and financial compliance practices. Excellent attention to detail, especially in reconciliations. Proactive communicator who keeps managers and teams in the loop and asks questions when needed. Passionate about providing accurate, high-quality work. Bonus: Experience working for a public company.
