Overview

Responsibilities
- Assess patient care needs through analysis of data gained through interviews, review of health records, patient responses, and consultation with physician and other staff members.
- Plan and implement nursing care based on assessment of physical, mental, emotional and spiritual needs of patients, providing or directing comprehensive nursing care.
- Administer therapeutic measures as prescribed by the physician, including medications and related treatments as appropriate for nursing practice.
Qualifications
- Education and Licensure: A graduate or higher-level degree, bachelor’s degree, associate degree, or diploma from an accredited professional nursing educational program; possession of a current, active, full, and unrestricted nursing license or registration in a U.S. state, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, or a U.S. territory.
- Experience: Sufficient specialized experience to perform the duties of the position, including the level requirements (GS-5/GS-7/GS-9) as described in the announcement; applicants must demonstrate duties and responsibilities in prior positions.
Other Requirements
- Background investigation and suitability for Federal employment; may include fingerprint check and security clearance.
- Pre-employment requirements include E-Verify participation and compliance with immunization policies.
- Time-in-Grade requirements may apply for Federal employees in the competitive service.
- Education verification: official transcripts may be required prior to offer; foreign education requires a certificate of foreign equivalency if used to meet qualifications.
