General Purpose
The Retail Associate is responsible for ensuring our Customers have a positive shopping experience. The Associate makes eye contact, smiles, and greets all Customers in a courteous and friendly manner, treats fellow Associates with respect, efficiently follows company best practices, maintains a clean work area, and ensures proper merchandise presentation. The Associate may perform a range of functions in all areas of the Store as business needs require and may be asked to perform additional tasks to help achieve customer service and operational goals.
Essential Functions
- Understands that safety is the number one priority and practices safe behaviors
- Maintain a high level of awareness on the sales floor to create a safe shopping environment; keep egress clear and report unsafe conditions
- Treat Customers and Associates with respect; greet Customers and acknowledge them during transactions
- Assist Customers: register-trained, answer questions, help with merchandise
- Provide prompt and courteous responses to Customer service requests; involve Store Leadership when needed
- Represent and support the Company brand at all times
- Perform cleaning tasks and restock as needed to maintain a neat store and presentation
- Maintain professional appearance and adhere to dress code
- Perform daily sizing and recovery to ensure the store remains neat, clean, and well merchandised
- Expedite newly received merchandise to the sales floor and follow presentation guidelines
- Understand Loss Prevention, MOS policies, and merchandise protection standards
- Safeguard confidential information, cash, and merchandise
- Follows all cash, check, charge card procedures and offline procedures; maintain accuracy for bankable tenders
- Demonstrate urgency to perform role efficiently and minimize steps in workflow

Qualifications And Special Skills Required
- Effective communication with Customers, Associates and Store Leadership in a friendly, respectful manner
- Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations commonly used in retail environments
Physical Requirements/Ada
- Ability to use store equipment, including PDTs, registers and PCs
- Ability to stand, walk, and move around the store up to 100% of working time
- Ability to bend, squat, kneel, climb, carry, reach, and stoop
- Ability to push, pull and lift more than 25 pounds (20 pounds for stockroom shifts)
- Ability to use janitorial equipment and ladders as required
- Certain assignments may require other qualifications and skills
