General Purpose

The Retail Associate is responsible for ensuring our Customers have a positive shopping experience. The Associate makes eye contact, smiles, and greets all Customers in a courteous and friendly manner, treats fellow Associates with respect, follows company best practice standards, maintains a clean work area at all times, and ensures proper merchandise presentation. The Associate is expected to perform a range of functions in all areas of the Store as business needs require and may be asked to perform additional tasks to achieve customer service and operational goals.

Essential Functions

• Safety is the number one priority; practice safe behaviors in everything you do.
• Maintain a high level of awareness on the sales floor to create a safe and secure shopping environment; keep egress clear and report unsafe conditions to Store Leadership.
• Treat Customers and Associates with respect and courtesy; recognize fellow Associates using Company recognition programs.
• Assist Customers: register-trained, help with merchandise, answer questions professionally; greet Customers throughout the Store and say thank you at each register transaction.
• Provide prompt and efficient responses to Customer needs; respond to service calls immediately and escalate to Store Leadership when needed.
• Represent and support the Company brand at all times.
• Perform cleaning tasks and restock as needed to maintain a neat, clean, and merchandised store.
• Maintain a professional appearance and adhere to the Company dress code.
• Execute daily sizing and recovery to keep the store well-maintained and merchandised to standards.
• Expedite newly received merchandise to the sales floor and merchandise items per guidelines to support monthly presentation standards.
• Understand Loss Prevention and merchandise protection standards.
• Demonstrate integrity and safeguard confidential information, cash, and merchandise.
• Follow MOS policies and cashier procedures with accuracy and urgency.
• Maximize productivity by following Store best practices and minimizing unnecessary steps.

Qualifications And Special Skills Required

• Effectively communicate with Customers, Associates and Store Leadership in a friendly, respectful, cooperative and pleasant manner.
• Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations commonly used in retail environments.

Physical Requirements / ADA

• Ability to use all Store equipment, including PDTs, registers and PCs as required.
• Ability to stand, walk, and move around the Store for up to 100% of working time.
• Ability to bend, squat, kneel, climb, reach, and stoop; lift up to 25 pounds (and more for stockroom shifts as applicable).
• Ability to use janitorial equipment, rolling racks, ladders and other assigned supplies.
