General Purpose
The Retail Associate is responsible for ensuring our Customers have a positive shopping experience. The Associate makes eye contact, smiles, and greets all Customers in a courteous and friendly manner, treats fellow Associates with respect, follows company best practice standards, maintains a clean work area at all times, and ensures proper merchandise presentation. The Associate is expected to perform a range of functions in all areas of the Store as business needs require and may be asked to perform additional tasks to achieve customer service and operational goals.
Essential Functions
- Safety is the number one priority; practice safe behaviors in everything you do.
- Maintain a high level of awareness on the sales floor to create a safe and secure shopping environment; keep egress clear and report unsafe conditions to Store Leadership.
- Treat Customers and Associates with respect and courtesy; recognize fellow Associates using Company recognition programs.
- Assist Customers: register-trained, help with merchandise, answer questions professionally; greet Customers throughout the Store and say thank you at each register transaction.
- Provide prompt and efficient responses to Customer needs; respond to service calls immediately and escalate to Store Leadership when needed.
- Represent and support the Company brand at all times.
- Perform cleaning tasks and restock as needed to maintain a neat, clean, and merchandised store.
- Maintain a professional appearance and adhere to the Company dress code.
- Execute daily sizing and recovery to keep the store well-maintained and merchandised to standards.
- Expedite newly received merchandise to the sales floor and merchandise items per guidelines to support monthly presentation standards.
- Understand Loss Prevention and merchandise protection standards.
- Demonstrate integrity and safeguard confidential information, cash, and merchandise.
- Follow MOS policies and cashier procedures with accuracy and urgency.
- Maximize productivity by following Store best practices and minimizing unnecessary steps.

Qualifications And Special Skills Required
- Effectively communicate with Customers, Associates and Store Leadership in a friendly, respectful, cooperative and pleasant manner.
- Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations commonly used in retail environments.
Physical Requirements / ADA
- Ability to use all Store equipment, including PDTs, registers and PCs as required.
- Ability to stand, walk, and move around the Store for up to 100% of working time.
- Ability to bend, squat, kneel, climb, reach, and stoop; lift up to 25 pounds (and more for stockroom shifts as applicable).
- Ability to use janitorial equipment, rolling racks, ladders and other assigned supplies.
