General Purpose
The Retail Associate is responsible for ensuring our Customers have a positive shopping experience. The Associate makes eye contact, smiles, and greets all Customers in a courteous and friendly manner, treats fellow Associates with respect, follows company best practice standards, maintains a clean work area, and ensures proper merchandise presentation. The Associate will perform a range of functions in all areas of the Store as business needs require and may be asked to perform additional tasks to help achieve Customer service and operational goals.
Essential Functions
- Safety is the #1 priority; practices safe behaviors at all times.
- Maintain a high level of awareness on the sales floor to create a safe environment; keep egress clear and report unsafe conditions to Store Leadership.
- Treat Customers and Associates with respect and courtesy; greet Customers as you interact with them and assist with merchandise and questions in a polite, knowledgeable manner.
- Assist Customers and operate registers when needed; respond promptly to Customer service calls and resolve issues with guidance from Store Leadership.
- Represent and support the Company brand at all times.
- Perform cleaning tasks and replenish supplies to maintain a clean store and well-maintained areas.
- Maintain a professional appearance and adhere to the Company dress code.
- Perform daily merchandising tasks to ensure a neat, organized store that is well-maintained and merchandised to standards.
- Expedite newly received merchandise to the sales floor and merchandise items per monthly presentation guidelines.
- Understand Loss Prevention policies and merchandise protection standards.
- Safeguard confidential information, cash, and merchandise; follow MOS policies and store procedures for transactions and disposals.
- Demonstrate a sense of urgency to maximize productivity and minimize steps in workflow.

Qualifications And Special Skills Required
- Effectively communicate with Customers, Associates and Store Leadership in a friendly, respectful manner.
- Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations commonly used in retail environments.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to use Store equipment, including PDTs, registers and PC as required.
- Ability to stand, walk, and move around the Store for up to 100% of shift.
- Ability to bend, squat, kneel, climb, carry, reach, and stoop regularly.
- Ability to push, pull and lift more than 25 pounds occasionally.
- Ability to use janitorial equipment, rolling racks, ladders and other assigned supplies.
- Stockroom shifts may require pushing, pulling, and lifting more than 20 pounds.
