General purpose: The Retail Associate is responsible for ensuring our Customers have a positive shopping experience. The Associate greets Customers, maintains a clean work area, ensures proper merchandise presentation, and performs a range of duties in all areas of the Store as needed.

Essential Functions

  • Safety is the number one priority; practice safe behaviors at all times.
  • Maintain awareness on the sales floor to create a safe shopping environment; keep egress clear and report unsafe conditions.
  • Treat Customers and Associates with respect and courtesy; greet Customers and assist as needed.
  • Assist Customers at the register, answer questions in a polite and knowledgeable manner, and respond to service calls promptly.
  • Represent and support the Company brand at all times.
  • Perform cleaning tasks to maintain a neat store and well-maintained customer and Team areas.
  • Maintain a professional appearance and adhere to the dress code.
  • Complete daily tasks to ensure a neat, organized store per company standards and monthly presentation guidelines.
  • Expedite newly received merchandise to the sales floor and assist Customers with product knowledge.
  • Understand Loss Prevention awareness, MOS policies, and merchandise protection standards where applicable.
  • Safeguard confidential information, cash, and merchandise; demonstrate integrity and honesty in all interactions.
  • Follow cash, check, credit, refunds, and offline procedures with accuracy.
  • Demonstrate urgency to perform duties and maximize productivity by following Store best practices.

Qualifications And Special Skills Required

  • Ability to effectively communicate with Customers, Associates and Store Leadership in a friendly and respectful manner.
  • Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations commonly used in retail environments.

Physical Requirements/Ada

  • Ability to use store equipment, including registers and PCs as required.
  • Ability to stand, walk, and move around the store for up to 100% of working time.
  • Ability to bend, squat, kneel, climb, reach, and stoop; lift up to 25 pounds; push and pull as needed.
  • Ability to use janitorial equipment and ladders as required.
  • Stockroom shifts may require lifting up to 20 pounds.
