General Purpose

The Retail Associate is responsible for ensuring our Customers have a positive shopping experience. The Associate greets customers, treats fellow Associates with respect, follows company standards, maintains a clean work area, and ensures proper merchandise presentation. The role may require performing a range of functions in all areas of the Store as business needs require, and may include additional tasks to support customer service and operational goals.

Essential Functions

• Understands that safety is the number one priority and practices safe behaviors.
• Maintains a safe, clean sales floor and clear egress to emergency exits; reports unsafe conditions to Store Leadership.
• Treats Customers and Associates with respect and courtesy; greets Customers with eye contact and a friendly demeanor.
• Assists Customers with merchandise and answers questions in a polite, knowledgeable manner; processes transactions accurately and respectfully.
• Responds promptly to Customer Service calls and escalates to Store Leadership as needed.
• Represents and supports the Company brand at all times.
• Performs cleaning tasks and replenishes supplies to maintain merchandise, customer and Team areas.
• Maintains a professional appearance and adheres to the Company dress code.
• Performs daily sizing and recovery to keep the store neat and merchandised to standards.
• Expedites newly received merchandise to the sales floor according to presentation guidelines.
• Understands Loss Prevention programs and merchandise protection standards.
• Safeguards confidential information, cash and credit card information, and merchandise.
• Follows MOS policies for identification, processing, and disposals.
• Handles cash, checks, card transactions, refunds, voids, and offline procedures with accuracy.
• Demonstrates urgency to maximize productivity and align with Store best practices.

Qualifications And Special Skills Required

• Effectively communicate with Customers, Associates and Store Leadership in a friendly, respectful manner.
• Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations commonly used in retail environments.

Physical Requirements/Ada

• Ability to use Store equipment, including PDTs, registers and PC as required.
• Ability to stand, walk, and move around the Store up to 100% of working time.
• Ability to bend, squat, kneel, climb, carry, reach, and stoop.
• Ability to occasionally push, pull and lift more than 25 pounds.
• Ability to use janitorial equipment, rolling racks, ladders and other assigned supplies.
• Associates who work Stockroom shifts: ability to regularly push, pull and lift more than 20 pounds.
