Overview

The Retail Associate is responsible for ensuring customers have a positive shopping experience. This includes greeting customers, maintaining a clean work area, and ensuring proper merchandise presentation. The role may require performing a range of tasks in all areas of the store as business needs require.

Responsibilities

• Provide a positive shopping experience by greeting customers with eye contact and a friendly, courteous manner.
• Assist customers with merchandise, questions, and call for leadership when needed.
• Maintain a clean and organized store environment, including sanitation and safety practices.
• Support merchandise presentation and replenishment according to company guidelines.
• Follow store procedures for cash handling, returns, and POS transactions with accuracy and integrity.
• Adhere to loss prevention policies and protect confidential information, cash, and merchandise.
• Participate in store safety, MOS processing, and other tasks as assigned to meet customer service and operational goals.
• Represent and support the Ross brand at all times.

Qualifications

• Ability to effectively communicate with customers, associates, and store leadership in a friendly, respectful manner.
• Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations commonly used in retail environments.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to use store equipment (PDTs, registers) as required.
• Ability to stand, walk, and move for up to 100% of shift; ability to bend, squat, kneel, reach, and stoop.
• Ability to occasionally push, pull, and lift more than 25 pounds.
• Ability to work in stockrooms and handle equipment as needed.
