Responsibilities
- Ensure customers have a positive shopping experience by greeting customers, making eye contact, and providing courteous assistance; maintain a clean work area and proper merchandise presentation; follow company best practices; be engaged in assigned tasks throughout the store; perform a range of store duties as needed.
- Understand safety is the number-one priority and practice safe behaviors on the sales floor; maintain a safe, clutter-free environment and report hazards to leadership.
- Treat customers and associates with respect and professionalism; participate in company recognition programs as applicable.
- Assist customers by answering questions, helping with merchandise, and processing transactions; greet customers and thank them at checkout.
- Respond promptly to customer service needs and escalate to store leadership as needed.
- Represent and support the Ross brand at all times.
- Maintain clean store conditions with cleaning tasks and disinfect high-touch areas as required; restock and replenish merchandise as needed.
- Maintain a professional appearance and adhere to the dress code.
- Recover and restock merchandise to ensure a neat, well-merchandised store per guidelines.
- Expedite newly received merchandise to the sales floor and merchandise items per monthly presentation guidelines; maintain familiarity with department brands to assist customers.
- Understand Loss Prevention programs and merchandise protection standards, and follow stock management procedures.
- Safeguard confidential information, cash, and merchandise; follow MOS policies for stock and disposals.
- Handle cash, checks, card transactions, refunds, voids, and offline procedures with accuracy and security.
- Demonstrate urgency and productivity by following store best practices to minimize steps and touches in workflow.

Qualifications And Special Skills Required
- Effectively communicate with Customers, Associates and Store Leadership in a friendly, respectful manner.
- Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations commonly used in retail environments.
Physical Requirements / ADA
- Ability to use all store equipment, including point-of-sale devices, registers and PCs as required.
- Ability to stand, walk, and move around the store for the majority of shifts.
- Ability to bend, squat, kneel, climb, reach, and stoop; lift up to 25 pounds; push and pull as needed.
- Ability to use janitorial equipment, rolling racks, ladders and other assigned supplies; stockroom duties may involve heavier lifting for some roles.
- Some assignments may require additional qualifications and skills.
