This newly created position plays a critical role in supporting the company’s expansion—including the construction of a new production facility, upcoming ERP implementation, and enhanced financial operations.

A growing manufacturing company based in Frederick, MD is seeking a Senior Accountant to join its finance team. This newly created position plays a critical role in supporting the company’s expansion—including the construction of a new production facility, upcoming ERP implementation, and enhanced financial operations.

• Key role in supporting rapid operational and financial growth

• Oversee the preparation of financial statements (balance sheet, income statement, cash flow)
• Ensure accurate and timely month-end and year-end close
• Mentor and train accounting staff (AR, AP, general accounting)
• Manage inventory valuation, raw material and packaging consumption reconciliation
• Oversee fixed asset accounting and ensure ASC 842 lease compliance
• Lead reviews of maintenance expenses and capital expenditures with operations
• Coordinate with external auditors for annual audit, including prep and documentation
• Administer and maintain ERP system; work with external vendor to ensure data integrity
• Support ERP training for team and drive process improvement
• Develop and enforce accounting policies and internal controls
• Monitor and analyze financial performance, identifying trends and variances
  
  

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA preferred)
• 5+ years of accounting experience, including 3+ in a manufacturing environment
• Strong experience with cost accounting, inventory, and fixed assets
• Proficiency with ERP systems (e.g., Dynamics NAV, SAP, Oracle, NetSuite)
• Power BI reporting skills a plus
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills
• Proven ability to lead and collaborate across departments
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-growth, hands-on environment
