Our client is a growing, dynamic company, located in Bucks County, PA, in the pharmaceutical sector that values accuracy, collaboration, and continuous improvement within its finance and accounting operations. They are currently looking to add a Senior Accountant to their team.
Salary/Hourly Rate:
$85k - $95k plus BonusPosition Overview:
The Senior Accountant will work closely with the Controller to strengthen general ledger accounting procedures, support month-end close, and drive process improvements across the accounting function. The Senior Accountant will also oversee accounts receivable operations, ensuring accurate invoicing, timely collections, and effective cash application. The ideal Senior Accountant candidate brings strong accounting experience, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate across departments to both improve processes and resolve billing-related matters.Responsibilities of the Senior Accountant:
- Partner with the Controller to implement and enhance general ledger accounting processes and internal controls.
- Prepare and post journal entries, reconciliations, and accruals in accordance with GAAP.
- Assist with month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities.
- Support the preparation of financial statements, management reports, and audit schedules.
- Lead AR oversight, including invoicing, collections, customer account reconciliations, and cash application.
- Monitor AR aging reports and proactively follow up on collections.
- Collaborate with internal teams to resolve billing disputes and discrepancies.
- Maintain accurate customer prepaid balances and related G/L accounts.
- Provide redundancy and support for Accounts Payable activities as needed.
- Contribute to process improvement initiatives, including modernization of workflows and SOPs.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP, company policies, and financial regulations.
- Support internal and external audits.
Required Experience/Skills for the Senior Accountant:
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including accounts receivable responsibilities.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and general ledger accounting.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience with accounting or ERP systems (QuickBooks, NetSuite, Sage, SAP, etc.).
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate across departments.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
Preferred Experience/Skills for the Senior Accountant:
- Experience with ERP implementations or billing systems.
Education Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field is required.
