We’re seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Assistant Project Manager / Job Accountant to join our operations team.

Position Summary

The Assistant Project Manager / Job Accountant will support project execution and financial tracking for multiple HVAC construction projects. This hybrid role blends operational support with accounting responsibilities, ideal for someone with strong project coordination and job costing experience in the construction industry.

Key Responsibilities

• Project Management Support: Assist Project Managers with daily project coordination and documentation
• Track project schedules, budgets, and change orders
• Communicate with vendors, subcontractors, and internal teams to ensure smooth project execution
• Manage submittals, RFIs, and closeout documentation
• Help coordinate material deliveries and field operations

• Job Costing & Accounting: Set up and maintain job cost codes and budgets in the accounting system
• Track and reconcile costs, labor hours, purchase orders, and subcontractor invoices
• Assist in the preparation of monthly job cost reports and forecasts
• Monitor billing schedules and support the preparation of AIA billings and progress billings
• Work closely with the accounting department to ensure accurate revenue recognition and project profitability

Qualifications

• 2–5 years of experience in HVAC, mechanical contracting, or general construction
• Experience in both project coordination and job cost accounting
• Familiarity with construction management software (e.g., Procore, Sage 300 CRE, Foundation, or similar)
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and project tracking tools
• Excellent organizational and communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Accounting, Business, or a related field preferred
