Part of a nationwide family of Continuing Care Retirement Communities, Covenant Living is seeking a Security Guard. This position is responsible for the security of the campus, all campus vehicles, residents, and staff. Security responsibilities include patrolling the buildings and grounds and responding to all emergencies on campus during the security shift.

In this role, the Security Guard will:

  • Respond to emergency call systems.
  • Evaluate the need to notify on-call personnel when necessary and follow designated procedures supporting them.
  • Call 911 and ensure connection with emergency responders in case of emergencies.
  • Check and secure all security equipment and complete scheduled patrols of the campus.
  • Secure all exterior doors in all buildings.
  • Challenge trespassers on campus property.
  • Monitor vehicle traffic and maintain traffic policies.
  • Familiarize with the campus, equipment areas, phone system, fire equipment, emergency pendant system, and follow procedures.
  • Know utility shut-off locations, reset HVAC chiller systems, and understand fire detector panels and shut-off procedures.
  • Write incident reports and maintain records.
  • Report safety hazards and submit maintenance requests via WorxHub.
  • Provide emergency maintenance or housekeeping services as directed.
  • Assist with non-emergency residential services that do not conflict with security duties.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • High school diploma.
  • At least two years of security or related experience.
  • Current driver's license (CDL preferred) with a good driving record.
  • First aid certification and experience in emergency medical situations.
  • Proficiency in reading and writing English, with good communication skills.
  • Interpersonal skills, friendliness, customer service orientation, and ability to work with elderly residents.
  • Ability to follow instructions and observe details.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to changing conditions.
  • For California applicants, a valid California Security License is required.

Compensation Pay Range: $14.23 - $16.95
