Job Description
We are looking for a dedicated Medical Receptionist to join our team in Plantation, Florida. This is a Contract position where you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our healthcare facility by providing outstanding administrative support and patient care. Your professionalism and organizational skills will contribute to creating a welcoming and efficient environment for both patients and staff. Hours are 8:30am - 5:30pm - we are looking for someone dedicated and reliable, seeking a long-term opportunity.
Responsibilities:
• Welcome patients with a friendly demeanor, ensuring they feel comfortable and valued upon arrival.
• Schedule, adjust, and confirm patient appointments, optimizing the calendar for maximum efficiency.
• Maintain accurate patient records using electronic health systems, updating personal and medical details as needed.
• Verify insurance coverage and eligibility, ensuring proper documentation of copayments and deductibles.
• Process payments securely, including cash, checks, and credit card transactions.
• Provide clerical support by performing data entry, managing office supplies, and maintaining organized records.
• Assist with patient check-in and registration, ensuring all necessary forms are completed.
• Communicate effectively with healthcare professionals and patients to address inquiries and resolve issues.
• Uphold confidentiality and compliance standards in handling sensitive patient information.
• Contribute to a positive and supportive work environment by collaborating with team members effectively.
• Minimum of 1 year of experience in a medical front office or receptionist role.• Strong communication skills to interact professionally with patients and healthcare staff.
• Exceptional organizational abilities to manage multiple tasks and maintain accurate records.
• Basic knowledge of medical terminology and proficiency in using electronic health record systems.
• Ability to verify insurance coverage and handle payment processing efficiently.
• Empathy and patience to assist patients with diverse health conditions and emotional needs.
• Customer service skills to ensure pleasant and supportive patient interactions.
• Bilingual proficiency in Spanish is a plus but not required.
