Position Title:
Director – Quality Assurance

Key Responsibilities
Process Development & Organizational Maturity
Design and implement comprehensive system test processes for multi-disciplinary testing (HW/SW/FW/Systems) Develop system test outcomes to support release through program management gate passage, satisfy entry/exit criteria, and aligned with testing standards across all product domains Develop and maintain system test documentation including test strategies, procedures, and quality metrics Create cross-functional testing workflows that integrate hardware, software, and firmware validation Implement risk-based testing approaches to optimize coverage and resource allocation Establish defect management processes and quality metrics/KPIs Measure and maintain quality levels across all Inovonics products Identify tools to manage intake of products and features for testing Triage issues based on severity and priority Perform Failure mode and effects analysis (FMEA) to reduce issues found in the field and minimize recalls
Team Leadership & Strategic Planning
Build, lead, and mentor a diverse system test team covering multiple technical domains Develop career paths and training programs for system test engineers across HW/SW/FW disciplines Collaborate with engineering, product management, and operations teams to align system performance and quality objectives Drive continuous improvement initiatives and testing process optimization Manage system test team budget and resource planning Technical Implementation & Automation
Design and implement comprehensive test automation strategies across all product layers Lead creation of automated test scripts for hardware validation, software testing, and firmware verification Establish CI/CD pipelines with integrated automated testing for rapid feedback cycles Implement test data management and test environment strategies Oversee selection and implementation of testing tools and frameworks Agile Methodology Integration
Adapt system test processes to support Agile/Scrum development methodologies Implement shift-left testing practices and continuous testing approaches Facilitate sprint planning, retrospectives, and quality-focused ceremonies Establish Definition of Done criteria and quality standards within Agile frameworks Coach teams on Agile testing best practices and cross-functional collaboration AI Integration & Innovation
Leverage AI tools for test case generation, test data creation, and defect prediction Implement AI-driven test optimization and intelligent test selection Explore machine learning approaches for anomaly detection in testing Utilize AI for test result analysis, pattern recognition, and quality insights Stay current with AI testing tools and emerging technologies in quality assurance Qualifications
Experience & Leadership
8+ years of QA/testing experience with 4+ years in management roles Proven track record of building system test organizations from early-stage maturity Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field Experience managing testing across multiple domains (hardware, software, firmware, systems) Strong background in process development and organizational transformation Technical Expertise
Deep understanding of testing methodologies for hardware, software, and firmware Hands-on experience with test automation frameworks and scripting languages including Python. Proficiency with Jira for project management, defect tracking, and workflow automation Experience with CI/CD tools and DevOps practices Knowledge of various testing tools (functional, performance, security, hardware validation) Methodological Knowledge
Strong understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies and Agile testing practices Experience with risk-based testing, exploratory testing, and determining test requirements for undocumented design outputs Knowledge of quality standards and regulatory requirements for integrated systems Understanding of software development lifecycle and hardware development processes AI & Innovation
Experience implementing AI tools in testing environments Knowledge of machine learning applications in quality assurance Familiarity with AI-powered test generation and optimization tools Understanding of data analytics for quality metrics and insights Preferred Qualifications
Experience in IoT, embedded systems, or integrated hardware/software products Background in regulated industries or products requiring compliance testing Advanced degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field Demonstrated experience with the following methodologies and tools JIRA, GitLab, Confluence, Agile, Scrum, SAFe, Kanban, Scrumban, and Swagger / API hub. Experience with cloud-based testing platforms and distributed systems testing Key Success Metrics
