Cost Accountant - Direct Hire In South York County

Cost Accountant - Direct Hire in South York County $80-$110K starting salary range Mon-Fri 8am-5pm Onsite The Cost Accountant manages all manufacturing-related financial data for the U.S. plant. This role supports Finance and Operations by analyzing margins, overhead, variances, inventory, and related liabilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyze and report on manufacturing variances, scrap, product returns, and margins.
  • Review and improve standard and job costing models.
  • Conduct cost and profitability analyses; identify cost-saving opportunities.
  • Ensure accurate inventory and costing in the ERP system.
  • Support period-end closings, journal entries, and inventory reconciliations.
  • Lead cycle counts and annual physical inventory.
  • Coordinate with IT and other departments on data and system improvements.
  • Assist with audits, tax schedules, and financial reporting.
  • Drive process improvements and maintain strong internal partnerships.
  • Perform other tasks and special projects as needed.

Job Specifications:

  • BS degree in Accounting
  • CPA and/or CMA certification required.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years experience in manufacturing as well as public accounting experience.
  • Exposure to a lean manufacturing environment is preferred.
  • Experience working with Oracle EBS ERP systems is preferred or SAP accepted.
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong analytical ability required.
