Administrative Assistant in Winsted, CT
This role involves providing vital support in meetings and presentations, managing administrative tasks, and maintaining effective communication within the organization. The Administrative Assistant III will be responsible for organizing and facilitating meetings, managing schedules, and supporting various departmental functions.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and compile PowerPoint presentations for internal and external meetings.
- Manage live presentation setup and execution.
- Organize and facilitate departmental and cross-functional meetings, including preparing agendas, securing venues, taking minutes, and distributing follow-up materials.
- Attend meetings to support presentation delivery and logistics.
- Manage complex calendars, independently schedule meetings and conference calls, and coordinate logistics.
- Maintain organized filing systems and ensure accurate record-keeping.
- Monitor and order office supplies within budgetary guidelines.
- Review, sort, and route incoming/outgoing mail and faxes.
- Make copies of correspondence or other printed materials as needed.
- Draft and prepare confidential correspondence, reports, presentations, and other business documents.
- Compose and send professional emails and faxes on behalf of the department.
- Update and maintain departmental spreadsheets, contact databases, and recurring reports.
- Prepare and submit expense reports and check requests in accordance with company policy.
- Conduct research and gather data from internal and external sources to support departmental initiatives.
- Support ad hoc projects and initiatives as assigned.
Essential Skills:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook.
- Strong administrative and organizational skills, including calendar and schedule management.
- Excellent communication skills for professional correspondence and presentation support.
- Ability to manage files and supplies, and organize departmental resources.
- Experience in drafting and preparing confidential documents.
- Capable of conducting research and managing data effectively.
- Discretion in handling sensitive information.
- Self-direction and initiative in managing tasks independently with minimal supervision.
Additional Skills & Qualifications:
- Experience in administrative support, customer service, or administration.
- Flexibility to take on special projects as requested.
Work Environment:
The position is based in an office environment within a reputable manufacturing organization. The role requires professional attire and involves using standard office equipment and technology. This is a six-month assignment offering an opportunity to work in a dynamic and supportive environment.
Job Type & Location:
This is a Contract position based out of Winsted, Connecticut.
Pay and Benefits:
The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $32.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
