ER RN Job Details - Richmond, VA Assignment Length: 16 weeks Location: Richmond, VA 23226 - Ideal for travel nurses seeking Virginia nursing jobs in a dynamic city with excellent amenities and outdoor activities. Healthcare Setting: Emergency Department (30 beds, 14 Fast Track beds, additional hallway beds as needed) Shift: 12-hour nights (7:30pm - 8:00am) Hours per Week: 36 Estimated Weekly Salary Range: $1,780 - $1,910 Schedule: Every other weekend and every other major holiday required Patient Population: All ages and medical complaints (no trauma) Clinical Team: 24/7 MD coverage, Advanced Care Providers (ACPs), Patient Care Technicians (PCTs), Charge RN, Rapid Response Team (RRT), Phlebotomist, ED tech, and secretary Scrubs: Navy blue, white, or any combination Emergency Department RN Qualifications Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Virginia or compact state (required) Minimum 1 year of recent adult Emergency Room nursing experience (required) Proficiency with conscious sedation (required) BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, CPI/De-escalation certifications (required) Must pass EKG exam at orientation (study guide provided) Recent Emergency Department or Critical Care nursing experience (preferred) PALS, NRP, TNCC certifications (preferred) EPIC EHR experience (preferred) No local candidates - must reside outside a 50-mile radius of Richmond, VA ER RN Responsibilities Deliver, coordinate, and evaluate nursing care for emergency department patients of all ages Supervise licensed and unlicensed healthcare staff in clinical care delivery Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and develop individualized care plans Safely administer medications and follow hospital policies and procedures Coordinate patient care with interdisciplinary teams and hospital departments Advocate for patient safety and participate in quality improvement initiatives Manage the physical and emotional demands of emergency nursing in a high-acuity setting Utilize critical thinking and rapid decision-making skills to prioritize patient care Maintain professionalism, compassion, and resilience in challenging clinical situations Stay current with contemporary emergency nursing practices and healthcare innovations Apply now to join our healthcare team as a travel ER RN in Richmond, VA, and take the next step in your nursing career!
