Under the direction of the Director of Career & Technical Education, the CTE Coordinator directs supervision and evaluation of the staff and students assigned and/or enrolled in. a specific Career Area and other assigned duties. The omission of specific statements of duties does not exclude them from the position if work Is similar, related or a logical assignment to the position. •Enforce and monitor the District Committee Policy and recommend modifications as requested. •Enforce and monitor Department of Education and Division Occupational Education Regulations. •Enforce and monitor federal and school regulations. •Recommend modifications to school regulations, which promote a more efficient and controlled school environment. •Attend meetings pertinent to school operations, especially as requested by immediate supervisors. •Review curricula of assigned departments to ensure that they are current and adhering to the standards of the Department of Education as well as career area initiatives. •Insure that departments within the career area are clean and orderly and safety devices and protocols are an integral part of the departmental operations. •Collect data on department equipment and materials; maintain accurate records and require annual departmental equipment inventory. •Monitor a departmental/career area budget process that insures cost effectiveness and maximizes the educational services to the student. •Monitor department/career area expenses during the year and supervise via purchase order approval the acquisition of department/academy supplies. •Insure that department Advisory Boards are properly constituted and meet twice per year as required; attend Advisory Board meetings if applicable. •Assist departments in funding and funding applications as applicable. •Report on overall department operations as requested. •Enforce and monitor compliance with school regulations and contractual agreements. •Perform formal educational evaluations on faculty members in conformity with school policy, school regulations and contractual agreements. •Assist teachers needing help to formulate Individual Professional Development Plans. (I.D.P.D) •Enforce and monitor for compliance student conformity with school policy, school regulations and student disciplinary code regulations for students enrolled in a specific career area. •Coordinate daily activities within the assigned career area. •Determine absent career area teachers or staff and confirm coverage. •Work with Career Area Teachers, Deans and the Assistant Principals to assist in the enforcement of discipline and attendance guidelines. •Ensure that Lead Teachers maintain updated substitute career area folders and provide guidance for substitutes. •Provide leadership for career area curriculum models. •Coordinate career area interaction. •Observe the learning process within the academy. •Provide input to support the scheduling process. •Work with administration to develop teacher and student schedules; oversee career area schedules for daily compliance. •Work with the Director of Career Programs and the Director of Curriculum, and Instruction and Assessment in developing and coordinating a Program of Study that is inclusive of the career area initiatives. •Work with the Directors of Career Programs and Curriculum, Instruction and Assessment in formatting integrated learning between academic disciplines and the career programs. •Work with the Director of Career Programs and Curriculum, Instruction and Assessment in developing curricula strategies within the career programs that are outcome-based and measurable, are compliant with Chapter 74 regulations and are reflective of respective occupational regulatory standards. •Oversee the Co-op and Tech Prep Programs for the assigned Career Area if applicable. •Act as Lunch Room Supervisor as necessary. •Assist with grant preparation. •Assume any and all additional duties as required by the Directors of Career and Technical Programs, Curriculum Instruction and Assessment, Principal and/or Superintendent of Schools.
