Position Summary
We are seeking a Security System Engineer to join our team on a 6-month contract with potential extension. This role offers the opportunity to work on secure, cyber-resilient engineering solutions supporting aerospace and defense systems. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, government, suppliers, and industry experts to ensure systems meet high standards of security and resilience.
THIS POSITION REQUIRES SECURITY CLEARANCE. Base pay range
$59.33/hr - $62.33/hr Key Responsibilities
Partner with core systems security teams to define technologies and processes that meet customer requirements for system security and resiliency. Learn and apply Secure Cyber Resilient Engineering (SCRE) practices across the product lifecycle, including requirements, design, build, test, production, and support. Collaborate with government, customers, and suppliers to understand and implement system security requirements. Develop digital models and apply model-based systems engineering (MBSE) to support program goals. Contribute to systems security and resilience best practices, ensuring consistent implementation of policies and procedures across projects. Required Qualifications
Bachelors degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) with 1+ years of experience, OR Masters degree in STEM with no prior experience, OR PhD in STEM with no prior experience. Authorization to work in the United States. Ability to obtain and maintain a high-level security clearance. Preferred Qualifications
Active security clearance. Minimum of 3 years of experience in aerospace defense or embedded systems. Familiarity with SCRE, Risk Management Framework (RMF), NIST SP 800-160, DO-326, or DoDI 5000.8. Experience or interest in cybersecurity (e.g., secure product design, intrusion detection, digital forensics, recovery, and risk assessment tools). Strong systems thinking, time management, communication, and collaboration skills. Eagerness to learn and adapt to evolving objectives. Location & Employment Type
