Job Description
Administrative Assistant, Minimum Salary: $37,735 per year, USC Aiken Campus Recreation and Wellness. This position provides administrative and paraprofessional support to the Department of Campus Recreation and Wellness, including training and development of employees in customer service; database management; records and reports; events and programs.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
- Extensive knowledge of office procedures, policies and practices.
- Proven customer service skills.
- Self-directed and able to work independently; excellent oral, written, communication, and organizational skills; ability to work collaboratively with students, faculty, and staff.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
- Curiosity and desire to learn new things; ability to learn software platforms used by USC and USC Aiken.
Requirements
- Minimum: High school diploma or GED and 1+ years of job-related experience.
- Preferred: Bachelor’s Degree or High School diploma and 4 years related experience.
Job Duties
- Provides administrative support and handles office management for the Department of Campus Recreation & Wellness; manages reimbursements, expenses, payroll, purchases and contracts; reconciles credit card purchases; generates monthly budget reports; oversees payroll procedures and serves as liaison with Business Services.
- Maintains records, databases and personnel files; onboarding training; processes hiring paperwork; liaison with Human Resources; includes student and temporary employees.
- Provides customer service training for employees; manages marketing and communications within the department and with members (signage, email, web updates, social media).
- Plans and implements department-wide events including employee training, open houses, and other programming during the semester.
- Assists with scheduling Cardiac Rehab patient consultations, communications with patients and physicians, and related paperwork and logistics.
- Other duties as assigned.
