About the Role:
We currently have an exciting opening for a Patient Support Specialist within Optum Pediatrics. This role involves implementing processes and protocols designed to enhance the patient experience while collaborating closely with our dedicated care team. As a cornerstone of our mission, you will embrace customer service excellence while supporting our financial and clinical objectives. Working Hours:
Our office operates seven days a week, from Monday to Friday, 8:00 am to 8:00 pm, including rotating Saturdays and Sundays from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm. A flexible 40-hour work week will be determined by the practice manager upon hire. Location:
870 Palisade Ave. Suite 201, Teaneck, NJ 07666 Key Responsibilities: Gather and maintain accurate patient information including personal and insurance details. Perform insurance verifications on appointment days. Collect necessary patient signatures for documentation. Upload government-issued IDs and insurance cards accurately. Ensure comprehensive medical records management. Handle telephonic responsibilities, including appointment confirmations and lab result communications. Respond promptly and courteously to phone inquiries. Collect co-payments and outstanding balances on the day of service. Assist in timely referral documentation. Provide excellent follow-up services for patients, including scheduling and obtaining lab results or specialist reports. Adhere to Optum employee policies and maintain patient confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA and OSHA standards. Efficiently coordinate care with a multidisciplinary team for optimal outcomes. Utilize technology for document scanning and electronic records management. Support the orientation and training of new staff members. Stay current on medical requirements relevant to your role. Preferred Qualifications: Experience with electronic health records. Bilingual Spanish and English skills. Key Soft Skills: Self-starter with the ability to work independently and demonstrate good judgment. Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and multi-task. Exceptional verbal and written communication skills. Pay ranges from $17.74 to $31.63 per hour, based on experience and qualifications.
