Position Overview
The HR Generalist plays a key role in managing and supporting the human resources functions of our growing organization. This position is responsible for implementing HR policies, ensuring regulatory compliance, managing recruitment and onboarding, and fostering a positive workplace culture. The role also includes facilitating apprenticeship programs and supporting employee development initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Compensation & Benefits Administration:
- Administer employee compensation and benefits programs.
- Ensure accurate and timely payroll processing, including bonuses and other benefits.
- Oversee KNOLL\'s relationship with outside brokers and vendors for payroll & benefits.
- Respond to employee inquiries regarding compensation and benefits, and oversee annual benefits registration.

- Talent Acquisition & Recruitment:
- Support recruitment efforts including job postings, candidate screening, and interviews.
- Collaborate with hiring managers to identify staffing needs.
- Represent the company at recruitment events and job fairs.
- Employee Onboarding & Training:
- Conduct onboarding sessions for new hires.
- Coordinate training and development initiatives.
- Employee Relations & Conflict Resolution:
- Provide guidance on HR-related matters such as leave, compensation, and workplace concerns.
- Address and resolve employee grievances and conflicts.
- Promote a respectful and inclusive work environment.
- Policy Development & Implementation:
- Assist in the creation and enforcement of HR policies.
- Ensure policies comply with applicable laws and align with company values.
- Communicate policy updates to employees effectively.
- Performance Management:
- Support performance review processes including goal setting and feedback.
- Collect and analyze HR metrics such as turnover rates and time-to-hire.
- Organize quarterly and annual performance evaluations.
- Record Keeping & Data Management:
- Maintain accurate and confidential employee records (electronic and paper-based).
- Ensure data integrity and compliance with privacy regulations.
- Utilize HRIS systems efficiently.
- Assist in establishing apprenticeship tracks in collaboration with local colleges and NC state guidelines.
- Manage documentation and support apprentices with assignments and tasks.
- Participate in outreach and recruitment initiatives with schools and workforce development groups.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or a related field, or equivalent working experience.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in an HR position.
- Strong understanding of North Carolina labor laws and employment equity regulations.
- Excellent organizational and record-keeping abilities, and communication skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Proficiency in MS Office and HRIS software.
- Strong conflict resolution and decision-making skills.
- Demonstrated leadership and initiative.
