About the Role
The Company is seeking a Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to join its senior leadership team. The CFO will be a strategic, hands-on financial leader with a strong background in nonprofit management, overseeing finance, HR, IT, and office operations. This role is pivotal in financial strategy, planning, and compliance, and involves managing county contracts, supervising cross-functional teams, and aligning operations with the organization's goals. The successful candidate will be responsible for all financial functions, ensuring compliance with relevant standards, and guiding program directors in financial oversight. Additionally, the CFO will play a key role in budget development, produce financial reports, and lead financial audits and regulatory reviews.
Applicants for the CFO position at the company should have a minimum of 10 years' of senior nonprofit leadership experience, with a Bachelor's degree in Accounting (advanced degree preferred). A strong knowledge of nonprofit accounting standards, California labor law, and experience with risk management and compliance is essential. The role requires high proficiency in QuickBooks, Excel, and fund accounting systems, as well as the ability to lead and develop teams in a collaborative environment. The ideal candidate will be a skilled communicator, comfortable presenting to boards and funders, and be confident, resourceful, and adaptable in a fast-moving nonprofit setting. Additional requirements include a valid CA driver's license, proof of U.S. work eligibility, and the ability to pass a Live Scan background check.
