About the Role
The Company is seeking an Executive Director of Gardens and Landscapes to lead the integration of key teams and develop a unified vision and strategy for the preservation, restoration, and management of its estate. This new executive will have the opportunity to design the department, establish its structure and culture, and collaborate with the CEO, Senior Leadership team, and Board on key strategies. A major focus of the role is the Comprehensive Landscape Master Plan, which aims to harmonize historical preservation, landscape restoration, conservation, and modern sustainability. The successful candidate will be instrumental in fulfilling the organization's mission to educate and inspire future generations about the life and legacies of its founder, particularly in the areas of character, leadership, and agricultural sustainability.
Candidates for this position should have a strong background in horticulture, landscape history, or landscape architecture, with a proven track record in organizational leadership and a keen interest in historic preservation. The role requires the ability to align departmental goals with the organization's broader strategies and to integrate horticultural, archaeological, and sustainability initiatives into cohesive master plans. The ideal candidate will be adept at translating the vision of the President and CEO, the Board, and the community into prioritized projects that support the long-term goals of the estate.
