Overview The Manager of Diversity & Inclusion will be based in either the

New York

or

Washington, DC

office, will work a hybrid schedule and will have a firmwide presence. Reporting to the Director of Diversity & Inclusion, this role manages the implementation of key initiatives that advance the firm's inclusion strategy. The Manager collaborates with multiple departments-including Human Resources, Legal Talent Management, Innovation and Practice Management, Marketing & Business Development, and Well-Being-to deliver programs that foster equitable talent development and organizational growth. The Manager also supervises the Diversity & Inclusion Assistant and Specialist, providing oversight and professional development guidance.

Responsibilities

Develop and implement strategic retention and advancement initiatives to promote equitable access to professional development and career opportunities.

Supervise, mentor, and coach the Diversity & Inclusion Assistant and Specialist, ensuring effective execution of responsibilities.

Oversee the design and execution of inclusive learning programs to foster cultural competency and belonging.

Partner with Legal Talent and HR to integrate inclusion into onboarding, evaluations, promotions, and career development systems.

Collaborate with Practice Innovation, Practice Management, and administrative departments to create customized inclusion action plans.

Oversee inclusive branding and communications in collaboration with Marketing and Business Development, elevating internal and external storytelling.

Lead initiatives to position the firm as a thought leader in D&I, including award submissions, industry partnerships, and client collaborations.

Work with the Director and D&I Data Analyst to build and maintain dashboards and reporting systems.

Contribute to client-facing initiatives, including RFPs and co-branded inclusion projects.

Stay current on best practices in workplace inclusion, talent development, and industry trends to serve as an internal subject matter expert.

Promote organizational values of diversity and inclusion, influencing stakeholders across all levels of the firm. Qualifications

Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree or JD preferred.

Minimum of three (3) years of managerial experience and three (3) years of experience in a D&I role within a law firm, professional services, or corporate environment.

Demonstrated experience developing and implementing innovative D&I programs that drive measurable outcomes.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with data analysis tools and collaborative platforms (e.g., Power BI, Smartsheet, Culture Amp, Qualtrics) preferred.

Knowledge of diversity and inclusion best practices, organizational change, and talent development.

Strong facilitation, presentation, and interpersonal skills.

Excellent project management skills with the ability to balance multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Proven ability to lead while fostering collaboration and valuing diverse perspectives.

High degree of discretion, professionalism, and sound judgment in handling confidential information.

Strategic mindset with the ability to translate vision into actionable plans.

Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Flexibility to work extended hours as needed.
