Position Overview
Join a dedicated healthcare team in the Pacific Northwest region as an Access Management Representative specializing in Emergency Department registration. This role involves interviewing patients or their representatives to gather essential personal, financial, and demographic information, preparing patient records, and verifying insurance coverage. You will also handle required documentation, collect payments, and ensure accurate routing of patient data to relevant departments. Key Responsibilities Maintain a safe and clean work environment, adhering to safety and infection control standards. Exhibit strong interpersonal skills when interacting with colleagues, patients, physicians, and the public. Conduct thorough patient interviews and accurately enter information into computer systems. Obtain necessary signatures, insurance details, and financial data to support reimbursement processes. Perform special duties as assigned to support departmental needs. Assume cashiering duties during after-hours and weekends. Verify insurance eligibility and benefits promptly, securing pre-authorizations as required by third-party payers. Ensure medical necessity verification aligns with CMS standards and communicate coverage information to patients. Notify patients of any required deposits or deductibles prior to registration. Provide cost estimates for procedures upon patient request. Assist patients through registration procedures, ensuring their questions and concerns are addressed and they are directed to appropriate service areas. Qualifications
Minimum of one year experience in computer data entry. At least one year of customer service experience working with patients or customers. Preferred experience in healthcare insurance verification. Knowledge of medical terminology is advantageous. Education
High school diploma or GED required.
