Position Overview
Key Responsibilities Maintain a safe and clean work environment, adhering to unit safety and infection control protocols. Exhibit excellent interpersonal skills when interacting with colleagues, patients, physicians, and the public. Conduct thorough patient interviews and input complete information into the system, securing all necessary signatures and insurance details to safeguard financial reimbursement. Perform special duties as assigned to support departmental needs. Handle cashiering responsibilities during after-hours and weekends. Verify insurance eligibility and benefits promptly, obtaining pre-authorizations from third-party payers according to their requirements. Ensure medical necessity verification aligns with Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) standards and communicate relevant coverage information to patients. Notify patients of any required deposits or deductibles prior to registration and provide cost estimates upon request. Assist patients through registration procedures, ensuring they are directed to appropriate service areas and their questions are addressed. Qualifications
Minimum of one year of computer data entry experience. At least one year of customer service experience working with patients or customers. Preferred: One year of healthcare insurance verification experience. Preferred: Knowledge of medical terminology. Education
High school diploma or GED required.
Successful candidates must pass a physical evaluation, urine drug screen, and pre-employment background checks prior to starting work.
