About the Role: Our client is seeking an experienced, hands-on Controller to lead our accounting and financial operations in Seattle. This is a key leadership position responsible for managing all aspects of financial reporting, project accounting, and compliance. The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker who enjoys building strong processes and partnering with executive leadership to drive company growth.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee all day-to-day accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, payroll, bank reconciliations, and cash management. Lead the month-end and year-end close processes and prepare accurate, timely financial statements. Manage project accounting, including job costing, WIP (Work in Progress) schedules, billing, and revenue recognition. Develop and maintain strong internal controls, accounting policies, and process improvements. Collaborate with project managers and senior leadership on budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning. Cashflow forecasting Coordinate with external CPA firms. Provide financial insights to support strategic decision-making and operational efficiency. Mentor and develop accounting staff, fostering a collaborative, high-performance culture. Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA preferred. 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 3 years in a construction or project-based environment. Strong knowledge of GAAP, job costing, WIP accounting, and financial reporting. Exceptional attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple priorities.
