*Job Title:* Associate Program Director – Faculty for Mission Community Hospital Family Residency program.

*Reports To:* Program Director – Family Medicine Residency

*Position Summary:*

The Associate Program Director (APD) of the Family Medicine Residency Program supports the Program Director in the organization, implementation, and oversight of the residency program in compliance with Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) standards. The APD assists with resident education, faculty development, curriculum oversight, clinical teaching, scholarly activity, and continuous program quality improvement. This is a key leadership role that helps ensure the delivery of a high-quality residency experience and supports the development of competent, compassionate family physicians.

*Key Responsibilities:*

*Educational Leadership:*

* Assist in the design, implementation, and evaluation of the Family Medicine residency curriculum in alignment with ACGME Common Program Requirements and Family Medicine-specific requirements.
* Serve as a core faculty member and role model for professionalism, patient care, and lifelong learning.
* Provide direct supervision and instruction to residents in inpatient and outpatient clinical settings.
* Participate in didactic teaching, simulation training, and resident skills development.
* Facilitate competency-based evaluations and participate in the Clinical Competency Committee (CCC) and Program Evaluation Committee (PEC).
* Assist with recruitment, selection, orientation, and onboarding of incoming residents.

*Program Administration:*

* Collaborate with the Program Director on accreditation and regulatory compliance, including preparation for ACGME site visits, internal reviews, and annual program evaluations.
* Maintain knowledge of and ensure adherence to ACGME requirements, institutional and program policies and procedures.
* Contribute to the development and implementation of program policies, clinical schedules, and curricular innovations.
* Assist with the Annual Program Evaluation and Annual Institutional Review process.

*Faculty Development and Scholarly Activity:*

* Support faculty development in teaching, evaluation, and scholarly activity.
* Promote and participate in research, quality improvement projects, and other scholarly pursuits.
* Mentor residents in research, QI projects, and scholarly presentations or publications.

*Resident Well-Being and Professionalism:*

* Support resident wellness initiatives and provide mentorship and career guidance.
* Assist in addressing resident concerns, professionalism issues, and remediation plans as needed.

*Qualifications:*

*Required:*

* MD or DO degree.
* Board certified in Family Medicine by the American Board of Family Medicine (ABFM) or American Osteopathic Board of Family Physicians (AOBFP).
* Licensed or eligible for medical licensure in California.
* Minimum of three (3) years of clinical experience in Family Medicine post-residency.
* Must meet ACGME’s definition of core faculty and devote a minimum of 20 hours per week to the residency program.
* Demonstrated experience in teaching residents and/or medical students.

*Preferred:*

* Previous graduate medical education leadership experience (e.g., core faculty, committee leadership).
* Knowledge of ACGME Family Medicine Program Requirements.
* Experience in curriculum development, scholarly activity, and quality improvement.
* Strong organizational, leadership, and communication skills.

Pay: $250,000-$270,000 per year.
