Overview
Job Title: Administrative Assistant
Department: Medicine | Orthopedics
Scope of Position: Position acts as an administrative assistant supporting the musculoskeletal (MSK) program, a priority focus area within the Wexner Medical Center’s 2035 Strategic Plan. The MSK program is a multidisciplinary effort that encompasses providers from Orthopaedics, Sports Medicine, Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation, Emergency Medicine and Neurology.
Position Summary: Administrative Assistant who provides comprehensive administrative support to 8 faculty members, including 4 faculty leaders within the Department of Orthopaedics and Sports Medicine. Responsibilities include prioritizing duties, managing calendars and scheduling, coordinating complex travel plans and itineraries, preparing travel documents, processing required forms, providing Workday-based travel and financial support, supporting professional societies, maintaining up-to-date CVs, tracking CME funds, and assisting with reappointment and license renewals. Also provides travel and financial Workday support for 3 advanced practice providers.
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive administrative support to 8 faculty members (including 4 faculty leaders) within the Department of Orthopaedics and Sports Medicine.
- Manage calendars and schedule meetings; prioritize and anticipate administrative needs.
- Coordinate complex travel plans and itineraries; prepare travel documents and process required forms.
- Support travel using approved vendors and financial requests in Workday.
- Support professional societies (national, regional, local).
- Maintain up-to-date CVs for faculty members and leaders.
- Track continuing medical education funds; assist with reappointment and license renewals.
- Maintain confidential information for each faculty member/leader.
- Provide travel and financial Workday support for 3 advanced practice providers.
Minimum Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED. Certification or vocational training may be required.
- Associate degree in a relevant field may be preferred.
- 2 years of relevant experience required. 4-6 years of relevant experience preferred.
