Overview

Payroll specialists answer payroll questions from employees and produce payroll reports when requested by managers. They collect and process financial information from new employees, such as bank account information, biweekly pay, and termination pay for those who leave the company. You will be responsible for processing and auditing payroll for multi-state dental practices, ensuring timely and accurate payment to all employees. The ideal candidate will have a deep knowledge of payroll principles, strong problem-solving skills, and advanced Microsoft Excel expertise. Responsibilities

Processing and auditing payroll for multi-state dental practices, including corporate, for both exempt and non-exempt employees, ensuring timely and accurate payment Maintaining employee payroll records, including new hires, terminations, garnishments, direct deposit, and tax changes Understanding of multi-entity employees Auditing payroll data for accuracy, including hours, wages, bonuses, expense reimbursement, and deductions Reconciling payroll prior to transmission and validating reports after processing Researching and resolving payroll discrepancies and employee inquiries in a timely and professional manner Preparing and auditing reports related to payroll taxes, W-2s, and quarterly filings Ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local payroll laws and regulations Collaborating with HR, Accounting / Finance, and Operations teams on payroll-related issues Assisting with payroll system upgrades, testing, and process improvements Preparing and entering biweekly payroll in UKG for over 4500 employees Having a strong understanding of our company pay practices and handbook, particularly as it relates to employees\' PTO and sick time. Auditing employee balances as necessary Producing ad hoc payroll reports Conducting training sessions for departmental representatives to explain payroll policies and procedures, state and federal regulations and laws Qualifications

At least five years prior payroll processing experience Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) certification preferred Experience in processing multi-state payroll Great understanding of federal and state laws and taxes pertaining to payroll processing Experience with UKG and Dimensions payroll / HR / timekeeping software Exceptional attention to detail and problem-solving skills Ability to handle confidential information with discretion Strong interpersonal and communication skills Advanced Microsoft Excel skills including formulas, filtering, pivot tables, and VLOOKUP\'s Experience in healthcare or dental payroll is a plus Bachelor\'s degree in accounting or relevant discipline preferred
