The successful candidate will leverage our extensive local expertise and qualifications to grow our Rail Transit practice in the region. The candidate will function as a Senior Project Manager while developing other rail transit project managers and be responsible for scope development and management of studies, plans, specifications, and cost estimates for a variety of transit infrastructure projects, including conceptual, preliminary, and final designs for light rail transit, bus rapid transit, commuter rail, and intercity passenger rail improvements for assigned capital projects. The candidate will work closely with a multi-discipline A&E team to manage major activities and allocate resources. The candidate will lead and coordinate business development and client engagement activities for the full suite of STV services for clients such as SEPTA, NJ Transit, PATCO, MTA, PANYNJ/PATH and Amtrak. Responsibilities
Client Service Leader for New Jersey and New York transit clients, leading technical marketing and proposal pursuits to procure key projects. Develop project scopes, fees, and schedules for design contracts. Meet with regional agency managers, departments, and senior staff to identify rail and transit project opportunities and the current needs of the agencies. Increase STV transit profile in the industry by leading and participating in local client activities and national events such as APTA and AREMA. Lead all aspects of client coordination and manage design-team for Rail Projects including the planning and environmental process; manage the assembly of plans, specifications and construction estimate packages. Manage budgets, schedules, quality of assigned projects. Serve as a technical expert with recognized authority in an area of specialization that resolves problems of greater scope and complexity while planning and developing projects or design activities with significant impact on major company programs. Plan, organize and supervise work of professionals and technicians, as well as develop and mentor staff. Education and Experience
Bachelor's degree in engineering and twenty (20) years of satisfactory, full-time related experience in railway engineering and managing complex multidisciplinary railway projects, including at least three (3) years of managerial/supervisory experience. NJ and/or NY PE License, or licensed in another state with ability to obtain a PA or NJ license within the first year is preferred. Skilled in technical report writing and communication including presenting to clients and the public. Demonstrated ability to lead a team on railway and transit projects. Desired Skills
Significant experience in project management for capital projects of major magnitude and scope, including at least ten years of engineering, design, and construction project management experience. Knowledge and experience in managing projects in an active railroad environment. Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills. In-depth knowledge of Rail/Transit design standards. Familiarity with transit operations and facilities. Must be able to fulfill essential job functions in a consistent state of alertness and safe manner. Compensation
